SBA Outreach Center offers disaster assistance to Soberanes Fire victims

SBA representatives are on hand at the Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Monterey County to help businesses and residents affected by the Soberanes Fire. The low-interest federal disaster loans are available to businesses, most private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters whose property was damaged or destroyed, said SBA’s Fresno District Director Carlos Mendoza. The filing deadline to return applications for property damage is Nov. 7, 2016. The deadline to return economic injury applications is June 6, 2017.

The Monterey County Disaster Loan Outreach Center is located in the former Broadway Health Center, 1292 Olympia Ave., Seaside. SBA representatives can answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help each individual complete their application. No appointment is necessary. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays - Fridays. The center will close at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22.

Applicants may apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via SBA’s secure website. Disaster loan information and application forms are also available from SBA’s Customer Service Center by calling (800) 659-2955 or email. Individuals who are deaf or hard‑of‑hearing may call (800) 877-8339. The filing deadline to return applications for property damage is Nov. 7, 2016. The deadline to return economic injury applications is June 6, 2017.
