Situation in Big Sur and Palo Colorado Canyon area
posted over 3 years ago by CERV from Community Emergency Response Volunteers of the Monterey Peninsula
There is a big need for housing on the peninsula especially for families with children who need to go to school.
From Pfeiffer Bridge south to area south of Lucia (a 17 mile stretch of highway where Paul's Slide is, folks are now trapped. The last chance to leave was the 24th Friday. Cal Trans is working on Paul's Slide 24/7. Expectations are that it will be at least 2 weeks before folks can get back.
The Palo community is also being seriously challenged.
Big Sur Kate blog is a great way to keep tabs on what our neighbors to the south are going through. Please let us know if you can help.
Any assistance will be very much appreciated!
