Monterey County Sheriff’s Office ordered mandatory evacuations - Palo Colorado area. Red Cross Shelter opened at Carmel Middle School Monterey County SPCA assisting with animals.

Due to high winds and rough terrain, the fire is far from contained. Last reported at 5 miles south of Carmel in Garrapata State Park (Monterey County). 180 acres impacted so far.
